Workplace Wellbeing Program

More and more workplaces are adopting regular wellbeing programs.

Why?

Because they work, but not like you think. They work because employees value that their employers actually care about them & their wellbeing.

Meditation however, works because it actually works for real.

Let me explain.

All the research shows that meditation increases production of the feel good chemicals in our brains.

Serotonin & dopamine. These chemicals increase our mood & motivation.

More specific studies have demonstrated that meditation also increases innovation & problem solving skills amongst teams.

A factory in the U.S introduced 20 minute meditation sessions in the morning & 20 minute meditation sessions in the afternoon for all their employees.

Guess what!

- Productivity up 120%

- Quality up 240%

- Sick days down 76%

Workplace meditation is not even considered alternative or holistic anymore.

The biggest & best companies in the world have all embraced the benefits of mindfulness meditation.

Google, IBM & Nike to name but a few.

I was called into to lead guided meditation sessions for staff at Centrick, a property management company in Birmingham.

How did the staff react?

Well, some were self conscious, this is normal, I see this quite a bit. Once you let go of your inhibitions, the magic starts.

Other people were moved by the experience. Again this is normal, I have had people break down in tears in sessions before.

Purging or releasing old trauma is a big part of the meditative process.

The yogis of ancient India recognised meditation & breathwork as an inner cleansing technique.

We have almost 80,000 thoughts a day. It makes sense to cleanse our minds of the negative, energy sapping thoughts we don't need.

Meditation is exercise for our minds.

For a healthy mind, we must exercise it daily.

The chanting. breathing & mind focus are all designed to engage our entire nervous system, to ensure our mind & body is working in a super efficient way.

Chanting was considered normal & healthy behaviour for many of the native civilisations of North America & the aboriginals of Australia, as well as many ancient peoples across the globe.

They knew the secret, or not so secret method of chanting & breathing to keep the body healthy.
