A clean, energy inducing diet is going to massively boost your wellbeing in the workplace and your productivity.
According to the Indian philosophy, there are 3 states of being, with food corresponding to each.
š·ļø Sattvic - calm & peaceful
š¶ļø Rajasic - energetic
š·ļø Tamasic - dark & gloomy
The sattvic diet, also known as the yoga diet, is the one I encourage. š
It is a lacto-vegetarian diet which excludes eggs. It includes some of the foods below;
- Sprouted whole grains.
- Whole grains.
- Fresh fruit.
- Land and sea vegetables.
- Pure fruit juices.
- Nuts & seeds
- Cheese & dairy products
- Legumes.
These foods leave you feeling light, refreshed & calm.
As opposed to Tamasic foods which leave you feeling dark, lethargic & depressed.
It's best to avoid the foods below if you want a productive afternoon.
- Highly refined white sugar foods
- Fried foods
- Microwaved food
- Meat, especially red meat
Rajasic food is good for high intensity activities. So if you are playing sport feel free to eat any of the below;
- Chillies
- Spicy food
- Peppers
- Garlic
- Onions
Remember, employee wellbeing requires a change to every part of your work life.
