Do you feel down?
Many people feel down or depressed in moments of life, however, the real problems begin if this feeling persists over a long period of time.
Some people don't even believe it's a real thing.
I can sort of understand this, because I didn't feel it was something tangible either.
HOWEVER
I was in a depressed phase, because now I feel awesome.
I now experience a new normal I never really got to experience before.
When your dopamine levels are lower than normal or unstable, it affects your mood.
Thats a scientific fact!
Below are some of the practical ways I used to reach my zen zone.
🔶️ Take cold showers. Try a couple of minutes under cold water, start with warm water if you want & then switch mid-way. Loads of science proves this works, & it worked for me.
🔶️ Visualize a better future. You must keep hope that things will get better. Better yet, actually believe they will get better. Be convinced of it.
🔶️ Avoid negative tv shows, films, music or books. I used to watch crime documentaries just to feel like my life was better in comparison. However, the long term effects of negative media on your brain are harmful.
🔶️ Become more #spiritual. The sooner you awaken to the fact that your existence is powerful & full of meaning the better.
🔶️ Do not aim for material things as your primary #purpose in life, they will always leave you feeling underwhelmed. Find your true purpose in line with your natural talents.
🔶️ Remind yourself of things you are good at by actually doing them. I forgot how good at art I was until I started painting again.
🔶️ Let go of past grudges or past hurts. This is a biggie, from your parents to your friends, to past work experiences. You must forgive, heal & move on.
🔶️ Stop living in denial. At some point you need to get real with yourself. Where are you now, & where do want to be going. Analyse & start fixing your life.
🔶️ Ask the Creator, the Universe or however you wish to address the higher power for help. It works!
🔶️ Fix up your diet. Don't be comfort eating on a daily basis.
🔶️ Kick your bad habits. Smoking & drinking are short term fixes. I compare how I feel now to my previous days of vice. I feel clean now, with clarity of mind & soul.
🔶️ Get active. This is a must, do anything to get the blood & oxygen circulating. Force yourself to go for a walk, you will notice the difference.
🔶️ Talk to somebody. Although I never did this in my journey of recovery, I do this a little more now & it does help.
🔶️ Finally, help other people. The better you get the more you can help others. Use this as a motivation.
🔶️ Almost forgot. Start meditating daily.
You go through struggles in life so that when you come through them, your life becomes a testimony for others to believe in & follow.
True story, it happened to me & it will happen for YOU too.
