Outdoor Meditation Holiday

If you like to meditate, & like to go on holiday, why not combine the two for an extra special spiritual experience.

Where do you go?

Well, there are very few places in Europe that provide the ideal conditions for outdoor meditation.

You want somewhere that has very little rainfall, somewhere that is warm enough to sit outside & somewhere where you won't be distracted by overzealous holiday makers.

We recommend Lanzarote.

Lanzarote has an incredibly low number of average rain days per year, 16. Mainly between December & February.

So if you want to indulge in prolonged outdoor meditation, these conditions are ideal.

Whats more, Lanzarote is an island, which means you get fresh ocean air consistently, wherever you are on the island.

Fruitful meditation requires consistent breathwork, & consistent breathwork requires good quality air.

Stay by the coast & you are good to go.

The island sometimes experience calima, which is the phenomenon of dust being swept across from the Sahara desert.

This usually takes place in January & can last 3-5 days so best avoided.

Lanzarote is home to 100 beaches, so you will have no shortage of finding yourself a nice meditation spot.

The great thing is that the holiday crowd is not raucous & rowdy, quite the opposite in fact, it is calm & mainly family oriented.

You are safe in the knowledge that you will not be disturbed if you are planning on a marathon meditation session.

You must check out Papagayo Beach which is located in the south of the island. The home of glistening white sands & turquoise calm waters. Either side are the mountains of the Ajaches Natural Monument.

Perfecto!

Now, although it is pretty warm all year round, you don't want to get sunburn during your meditation sessions.

For ideal meditation temperatures, you want 22C, which is pleasantly mild.

March & April or November & December are your go to months for this.

If however you are a heat lover, don't let the May to October season put you off, where you will see temperatures from 24C to a maximum average of 28C in August.

Another positive is that there is plenty of coastline to fill in for your post-meditation strolls.

Something that I love to do to prolong that zone of serenity.
